Khor Al Maqta, with its stunning sights like the Sheikh Zayed Mosque, has become a hub for luxurious entertainment, epitomized by the impressive AED 850 million Al Qana Complex. The complex, spanning over 150,000 square meters along the 2.4-kilometer Al Maqta Canal, is a key project aligning with Abu Dhabi Vision 2030 to establish the capital as a global tourism destination. Developed by the Abu Dhabi Municipality in collaboration with Al Barakah International Investments, Al Qana hosts a range of world-class attractions, with the National Aquarium Abu Dhabi being the standout highlight.
National Aquarium Abu Dhabi:
As the Middle East’s largest aquarium, the National Aquarium Abu Dhabi covers 9,000 square meters and boasts an extensive collection of marine life from around the world. Visitors can marvel at a diverse array of exhibits, including eagle rays, hammerhead sharks, zebra sharks, Black Sea Devil, Super Snake, and many more.
10 Themed Zones:
The aquarium features 10 themed zones, each offering a unique and immersive experience. From exploring the UAE’s natural treasures and learning about pearl farming heritage to venturing through the Atlantic Cave, Red Sea Wreck, Sub, and Bu Tinah Island, visitors can discover marine wonders from over 300 species.
Immersive Experiences:
Beyond observing marine life, visitors can participate in immersive experiences. General admission provides access to the aquarium’s ten zones, while the “Beyond the Glass” pass allows for behind-the-scenes exploration and a glass bridge walk. The “Bu Tinah Dhow” ticket includes general admission features and a glass-bottom boat tour.
Complete Leisure Experience:
Al Qana offers more than just the National Aquarium Abu Dhabi. The complex includes the region’s largest cinema, a marina club with berths for 98 mini yachts, a family entertainment center, and facilities for indoor and outdoor sports. This makes Al Qana one of Abu Dhabi’s premier and comprehensive leisure destinations.
